The Announcement

Haas confirmed the expanded partnership with Toyota Gazoo Racing, Toyota’s motorsport and advanced research division. The agreement transitions the naming rights from MoneyGram to TGR for the 2026 Formula One season, marking a formal shift into a new identity ahead of the regulation change.

This step builds on the cooperation established in late 2024, when the two organisations signed a multi-year technical agreement. Over the 2025 season, that collaboration became visible through a complete Testing of Previous Car programme using the VF-23 chassis. The schedule included Silverstone, Paul Ricard, Fuji Speedway, Imola and Mugello, giving Toyota-backed drivers Ryō Hirakawa, Ritomo Miyata, Sho Tsuboi and Kamui Kobayashi structured time in Formula One machinery.

The wider partnership is rooted in the shared “People, Product, Pipeline” philosophy, focused on developing engineers, mechanics and drivers. For 2026, this expands into the TGR Haas Driver Development Program, providing a formal route for Toyota-affiliated talent to gain experience inside the Formula One environment.

Work between the two sides has also continued away from the circuit. That includes simulator development for 2026 at Haas’ Banbury facility, joint engineering projects, and personnel integration as both groups push toward the next regulatory era.

Official Comments

Team Principal Ayao Komatsu said the growth of the relationship has matched expectations.

Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda highlighted the transformation he has witnessed inside Toyota’s driver and engineering ranks.

What’s Next

TGR Haas F1 Team will reveal the VF-26 livery online on Friday January 23. The team then heads to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for private testing from January 26 to 30. All teams receive three days of private running before official pre-season testing begins in Bahrain in February.
