Maya Weug owned Zandvoort.
Pole. Launch. Every lap hers.
The Ferrari driver made it look simple, but it was anything but. Her second win of the season, and crucially, a cut into Doriane Pin’s points lead. The gap at the line told the full story. 7.3 seconds clear. One of the largest margins this series has seen.
Calm at the Front
From lights out, Weug was in control. Clean launch, no drama into Turn 1, and she immediately started edging away.
Ella Lloyd had made her own statement, muscling past Alisha Palmowski into second. She even threw her McLaren down the inside in the opening exchanges, trying to rattle the Ferrari. But it was short-lived. Every lap Lloyd spent attacking was another lap she had to defend from behind.
By Lap 11, Weug was five seconds up the road. At Zandvoort, with its narrow confines and limited overtaking zones, that was already decisive.
Penalties Bite
And then came the call that changed the race. Lloyd had jumped the start. Five seconds added. From fighting for the lead to losing the podium.
That penalty reshuffled the order. Palmowski was promoted to second and finally had her breakthrough podium moment. Pin collected third, banking the kind of consistent points that keep titles alive.
Elsewhere, things went wrong before the start. Chloe Chambers never left the grid, her car stuck on the formation lap and wheeled back to the pits. No chance to compete. A heavy blow to her championship push.
Lia Block also suffered. Confusion on the grid saw her line up in Chambers’ empty slot, forcing her to reverse back into P6. The stewards weren’t forgiving. A ten second penalty ended her hopes of points.
Action in the Pack
There was no shortage of stories further back. Emma Felbermayr carried too much speed into Turn 10, looped the Kick Sauber around, and dropped to the rear.
The highlight came from the PREMA pair. Nina Gademan, fresh from her maiden victory in Race 1, went wheel-to-wheel with teammate Tina Hausmann. They swapped lines, tested each other lap after lap, but Gademan hung on to seal fifth. A solid follow-up that kept her home weekend alive.
And then came the crowd favourite. Local Wild Card Esmee Kosterman. Seventh across the line. History made as the first guest entry to score points this season.
Rafaela Ferreira carved her way from 11th to eighth, while Alba Larsen held on to ninth. The final point went to Chloe Chong in tenth, despite a mistake in the closing laps that almost let Larsen through again.
A Statement Drive
For Weug, this wasn’t just another tick in the win column. It was a message. Pole, launch, control. Nothing wasted.
“This one was about focus,” she said. “If I got away clean, I knew it was mine to control. The car felt amazing all race.”
Championship Picture
