3 June 2026 · 18:46 BST

EA SPORTS has launched the 2026 Season Pack for F1® 25 today, bringing the sport’s new regulation era to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC worldwide. For the first time in the franchise’s history, players can race as Audi and Cadillac, the two expansion teams that joined the grid this season, with full 2026 driver line-ups including Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Perez, Isack Hadjar and rookie Arvid Lindblad. The update also introduces active aerodynamics, new Overtake and Boost modes, and the virtual MADRING Circuit in Madrid, 100 days before the Spanish Grand Prix takes place there in real life.

  • 2026 Season Pack available now as a download for existing F1® 25 owners, or as a 2026 Season Edition bundle for new players, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC

  • My Team mode updated to support a 12th entry on the grid, allowing players to build and manage their own team under the 2026 rules
  • Lewis Hamilton continues as brand ambassador for the EA SPORTS F1® franchise into the 2026 Season Pack

Audi and Cadillac: First Time on the Virtual Grid

Audi and Cadillac have been on the real-world grid since Melbourne. Neither has appeared in the franchise before today. Players can now race as Audi with Hülkenberg and Bortoleto, or Cadillac with Bottas and Perez.

The full 2026 driver grid is included in the update. Isack Hadjar at Red Bull and Arvid Lindblad at Racing Bulls are among the new additions, with Lindblad carrying his real-world status as the only rookie on the 2026 grid into the game.

New Cars, New Rules

The 2026 regulation cars are built around a different philosophy to what came before. Lighter, smaller, active aerodynamics that respond dynamically to speed rather than relying purely on fixed downforce. The update brings all of that into F1® 25, with the physics and handling model updated to reflect how these cars actually behave.

Overtake and Boost, based on the real-world deployment systems introduced under the 2026 regulations, are now part of race management in-game. Players must decide when to attack, when to defend and how aggressively to use battery energy throughout a race distance.

Improved assist options are included for both controller and wheel players, widening accessibility without altering the core experience for those running without aids.

MADRING: Race Madrid Before September

The Spanish Grand Prix moves to the MADRING Circuit in Madrid later this season. The real-world venue does not host its first Formula 1 race until September. The virtual version is available to drive today, 100 days ahead of that.

EA SPORTS describes it as a high-speed venue designed to encourage wheel-to-wheel racing. For players, it is the only way to experience the circuit before the real-world field lines up there. For the sport, it is another example of the game extending the season into spaces the calendar has not yet reached.

My Team and Hamilton

My Team mode returns updated for the 2026 era. Players build and manage their own team as the 12th entry on the grid, competing under the new regulations with the full competitive field around them. The mode has been a consistent draw for the franchise and its inclusion in the update keeps it current with how the sport looks this season.

Lewis Hamilton continues as brand ambassador for the EA SPORTS F1® franchise, his partnership with the franchise continuing during his time as a Ferrari driver.

Availability and Pricing

The 2026 Season Pack is available now. For existing F1® 25 owners it is £24.99 on console and £21.99 on PC. Players who do not own F1® 25 can purchase the 2026 Season Edition bundle, which includes the base game and the Season Pack, at £49.99 on PS5 and Xbox or £44.99 on PC.

Coffee Corner Take

Five rounds in. Audi scored on debut, Bortoleto P9 in Australia. Two points. Hülkenberg is still waiting. Cadillac have nothing yet, Bottas and Perez yet to trouble the top ten. Fans already have opinions. The game is only now catching up.

Nobody has raced Madrid yet. EA puts that circuit in players’ hands three months before the real thing exists competitively. Whatever the virtual version gets wrong, it drives more conversation about September than any trailer would.

What I actually want to know is whether the deployment decisions carry real consequence in-game. Five rounds in, those systems have produced yo-yo racing, drivers losing positions earned through a corner because someone had more battery on the straight, strategy built around energy windows rather than tyre life. That is genuinely new. Getting the name right is easy. Getting the feeling right is hard. I’ll reserve judgement until someone who has played it tells me it matters, or it doesn’t.

The elephant in the room is that there is no F1 2026 game. The season that brought the most significant regulation change in decades, two new teams, a completely new power unit formula and the biggest grid reshuffle in years gets a DLC. £24.99 on top of a game people already bought. For a lot of fans that is a hard ask. The 2026 Season Pack does what it can within that constraint. Whether a full standalone game returns after the year out has not been confirmed. For now, a DLC is what the biggest regulation change in decades gets.
